What information should I send to request a custom cooling fan?

Send the operating point and the interface, and the RFQ answers itself: airflow and static pressure at that airflow (not just free-air CFM), the temperature and altitude the values are based on, voltage and tolerance, control interface (PWM/FG/RD), connector and pinout, available envelope, noise target, life assumption and quantity. Anything missing becomes a round of questions — or a wrong selection.

The eight items that make an RFQ complete

Each item below either selects the fan or eliminates a wrong one. The operating point is the heart of it: a flow figure at zero pressure tells a selection engineer almost nothing.

One operating point stated with its pressure is worth more than a full page of free-air CFM figures.

What happens with the information

A complete RFQ gets mapped to a candidate (standard frame, custom variant, or full custom) with the P-Q curve intersection checked against your stated operating point, the electrical interface matched item by item, and a sample plan proposed with the validation data you will need for your qualification file. An incomplete RFQ gets the questions back — the two-to-three-day style delay that a five-line checklist avoids.

Need a fan matched to your operating point?

Send MEGA Tech your airflow and static pressure target, voltage, size limit, control interface, quantity and environment. We reply with a selection proposal and a sample plan — selection by operating condition, samples validated on your unit.
