Custom cooling fan development

CUSTOM DC FAN DEVELOPMENT FROM DUTY POINT TO SAMPLE.

MEGA Tech develops custom DC fan prototypes around your product constraints, then validates the installed path before the approved configuration moves toward repeatable production.

Cooling fan sample being measured on an airflow test rig
Representative engineering workflow: the fan is evaluated against defined conditions before production approval.

Four controlled stages

THE SAMPLE IS A LEARNING LOOP, NOT THE FINISH LINE.

Each stage should leave a record that the next team can use. The product maker owns final system approval; MEGA Tech supports the fan-side design and evidence.

Engineer reviewing enclosure thermal conditions01

Define the installed duty

Describe the heat source, target airflow at pressure, ambient range, altitude, available space, voltage, control, acoustics and service condition.

Output
A reviewable requirement and first fan-performance envelope.
Technician fitting a cooling fan sample into equipment02

Configure and build

Align the frame, thickness, airflow direction, connector, cable, PWM or feedback behavior, bearing choice and mounting details.

Output
A traceable sample revision with drawing and electrical interface.
Cooling fan sample tested with airflow instruments03

Validate in the real path

Compare fan command, RPM, pressure or airflow proxy, protected temperatures, current, noise and defined fault or service states.

Output
Measured evidence, open issues and the next revision decision.
Cooling fan production quality inspection04

Freeze the baseline

Approve the drawing, parts, firmware assumptions, acceptance method, critical limits, labeling and change-control record.

Output
A production specification that can be inspected and reproduced.

Before the first sample

WHAT SHOULD YOUR TEAM SEND?

Perfect data is not required to begin, but the unknowns should be visible. A current fan label is useful only when it is paired with the application condition.

Installed validation

SEPARATE FIT, INTERFACE AND THERMAL EQUIVALENCE.

A replacement or custom sample can fit mechanically and start electrically while still missing the required operating point. Record these decisions separately.

Mechanical

Does it fit the real assembly?

Frame, thickness, mounting, airflow direction, cable exit, connector, guards and service access.

Electrical

Does it behave correctly?

Voltage range, startup, current, PWM response, stable minimum speed, FG/TACH, RD and fault logic.

Thermal and acoustic

Does the product pass?

Installed pressure and flow, hotspot temperatures, noise spectrum, vibration, degraded states and credible filter condition.

Production

Can the result be repeated?

Approved drawing, bill-of-material assumptions, test fixture, acceptance limits, inspection record and controlled changes.
